Put My Cat to Sleep

Unlike dogs who are driven by their need to be helpful, cats are driven by an internal flame. That flame burns on and is what drives cats on everyday.

The flame is their strong will. It's their independence. It's their questioning looks.

And when cats become ill, or become old, that flame just keeps on burning. Bits can be falling off, parts stop working, but cats just keep going on - day by day. I have seen old cats who have lost all their body weight - they are like feathers. They can barely move, but move they do. They ignore the pain. They ignore the hunger. They ignore the drinking. They are almost 'see-through', and yet their flame burns on.

Cats are amazing - but they can be their worst enemy. They just keep going when they should call it a day.

There is no point in suffering - even for an hour...
